From the 2014 series, “Everything you wanted to know about liturgy*”, on CatholicTV.
Very nicely done. At the parish where I work we offer an anointing mass twice a year for the elderly and infirm, or any who are ill, or facing serious surgery. In nursing home vans, handicap vehichles, private cars, people come rolling in – literally, in many cases – for a beautiful liturgy.
It is so powerful to watch the priests move from pew to pew, anointing every one (they come to them, as each pew is left empty in between the rows. People are healed and restored in many ways, even as they (as we all will) move on towards our death. We will rise again, God willing.
