“Porta Sancta” at Good Shepherd School in St. Johnsbury VT

Each Catholic school in VT has been invited to create their own Holy Door for the Jubilee of Mercy. Good Shepherd’s is centered around Our Lady of Guadalupe. Each day they attach another rose to the door to symbolize an act or prayer of mercy that they are performing. Way to go kids!

Thanks, Bishop Coyne, for coming into our neck of the woods of the Northeast Kingdom and for blessing some of our children. Please pray, then, for Rev. Mr. Bernier Mayo, a deacon of Corpus Christi Parish whose rectory is in St. Johnsbury, and one of the persons instrumental in setting up Good Shepherd Catholic School as an institution of Diocesan right and philanthropic benefaction — and eventual NEASC accreditation. May he be remembered and appreciated in gratitude, too, for all his good educational and other works, knowing from public knowledge that he suffered a stroke after surgery for lung cancer in mid 2013 (Littleton Record, issue of July 17, 2013), with his health deteriorating afterwards. Thank you. A resident of Sheffield, Vermont
